The Kit (Skin Care and
Makeup) to Get This Look
When GP stepped out in the gorgeous emerald-green G. Label jumpsuit at the premiere of The Politician, people went wild—not just for the dress but for her glowy, fresh skin. New York makeup artist Lisa Aharon created the look with her signature strategy. “I always start with a lot of skin care,” she says. “It makes all the difference.” Aharon customizes individual makeup kits for each of her clients, typically putting in almost as many serums and creams as she does mascaras and cream blushes (she loves cream textures). She’s got a kit for GP (details are below) but notes that GP often has had a head start before she shows up: “You can tell when she’s used the goop peel the night before,” says Aharon. “The glow is that noticeable.”

SKIN CARE

“GP doesn’t really love being in the makeup chair, and starting with this face spritz changes everything. I discovered it at an In goop Health summit—it plumps and hydrates skin, and everything I put on next gets absorbed better, too.”

“As much as I want to put on a dewy, rich formula under the eyes, too much doesn’t work well under concealer. This one is perfect—it’s rich but lightweight, so it works, and the effects have much more longevity than something more intense. Using your ring finger, pat a few dots of it in under the eye, let it sit for a few seconds, and it plumps and freshens the skin there. It’s great right before concealer or just on its own.”

“This contains two of my favorite ingredients for both hydration and brightness: vitamin C and hyaluronic acid. Because glowing skin is always my number one focus for a makeup look, this is essential.”

MAKEUP
“We usually do something just fresh and pretty, or we do something with a smoky eye,” says Aharon. “GP likes everything to be quick and no fuss. Whenever I can use a cream base, I do: Cream formulas keep the look simple and natural, for that beauty-from-within feeling.”

“I like to use the smallest amount of foundation that I can, to let her great skin shine through. If’s she’s got a little tan, all I need is concealer; if it’s more a red-carpet moment, I can use the stick for more coverage.”
