The Pre-Shower Treatment for Ultrasoft, Ultrasmooth Skin
It’s early morning in SoHo, and Paris native Yasmin Zeinab, founder of Abi Amé—a brilliant new line for skin—has been up for hours. “More happens here in a morning than a day in Paris,” says Zeinab, who is spending more time in New York as her brand expands and deepens its cult following.
She’s built Abi Amé around the idea that body care can—and should—be approached with the same care and eye to efficacy as skin care. “I was always obsessed with skin care and had a 15-step routine for my face, but one day it dawned on me that I did practically nothing for my body,” she says.
Her first product, Summer Skin, was a deeply nourishing and fast-absorbing serum-lotion hybrid; it sold out during its soft launch and has since earned a devoted following. The brand’s second product is Soft Touch, a pre-shower exfoliating body mask. It’s a simple, ingenious addition to any body-care routine—especially in the colder, dryer months. And it’s exclusive to goop.
The hero ingredient in the mask is 30% glycolic acid. “People don’t always think of glycolic acid for treating dryness,” says Zeinab. “But it’s massively underrated as a hydrating ingredient. It helps melt away the top layer of dead cells, so your skin looks and feels instantly smoother. And it also helps your skin produce its own moisture, so the benefits are long term, too.”
The glossy purple gel is also spiked with hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5, so it nourishes and hydrates as it exfoliates. You smooth it onto dry skin, from the neck down, and let it get to work for five minutes before stepping into the shower to rinse off. The result: velvety-soft, silky-smooth skin, all over. “It’s great for full-body exfoliation, spot-treating ingrown hairs at the bikini line, or targeting blemishes,” Zeinab says of the formula. “And there are heavy-hitting moisturizers in there, too.”
