Christina Martini and Nikolas Minoglou, both raised in Greece, had built up some serious chops in footwear before they launched Ancient Greek Sandals—Martini at Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton, Minoglou at his family’s Athens-based footwear business. Ancient Greek’s simple, summertime sandals are hand-made in Greece by craftsmen who have been making leather sandals for generations, and in a nod to ancient mythology, the brand’s buckles are adorned with the shape of Hermes’ wings.
