The Host Gift Guide
Having a stash of no-brainer, universally appealing hostess gifts at the ready is a priceless commodity during party season. And if the luxury of thinking ahead is an option, consider surprising your host with something unexpected—say, a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie delivery or a year’s worth of booze dropped off at their door monthly. P.S. Shop the gift guides IRL at goop GIFT in Los Angeles through December 24.

MAKE REFUGEES FEEL AT HOME:
Worldwide, there are more people displaced from their homes than ever before: A UNHCR report from this summer put the number at 65.3 million, or 1 in every 113 people. The International Rescue Committee offers essential support to people around the world in the wake of upending humanitarian crises. Stateside, they help to resettle refugees and provide services to other immigrants, asylees, and victims of human trafficking. You can lend a helping hand to refugees via one of the IRC’s 30 U.S. locations and donate much-needed aid here.
Museums rely heavily on memberships to provide funding for their programs and collections. As a gift, a membership gives your friends free or reduced entry, access to special exhibitions, and usually a discount in the shop. While every city has its favorites, MoMA, LACMA, and the TATE are sure bets.
