On Repeat:

Jessie Baylin’s Dark Place

Born in New Jersey, but now based out of Nashville, Jessie Baylin’s newest album, Dark Place, is one of those records that assimilates multiple places and influences. Throughout the album—which she dedicates to her daughter, Violet—there’s some ’90s synth pop, a little bit of rock (Jessie is married to Kings of Leon drummer, Nathan Followill), a touch of ’70s country, and even a cover of Bette Midler’s “Do You Wanna Dance.”
