A Mamas-Only Indian Summer Dinner Party

There’s a nostalgia that comes with the end of summer–we long for the hot, more carefree days but feel charged and ready for the seasonal shift–which is why Rebecca Hessel Cohen, founder of the label LoveshackFancy, decided to throw an en plein air, mamas-only dinner along with Kelly Stuart and Violet Gaynor of The Glow, Nadine Abramcyk of tenoverten, and goop’s own fashion editor Anne Keane. “We wanted to have an end of summer party to celebrate the season, bring together some amazing moms, and collaborate with some local talented women,” Cohen said.

Cohen turned the backyard of her Hamptons home into a dimly lit, ethereal space, with her “shed” offering guests a place to sip wine and mingle before dinner. Local chef Meghan Huylo of Bhumi Farms served up a menu of organic herb salad with edible flowers, fresh local white fish, and vegan risotto at a farm table finished with natural botanicals, vintage chairs, and string lights illuminating from above. It was a seasonal send-off aligned with Cohen’s entertaining mantra: “Keep it beautiful, informal, and relaxed.”
