Kids Clothes
This week we showcase some beautifully made, very original lines of children's clothing that we have recently discovered and are adoring. Mostly started by mothers, these companies are producing very unique, very cool, and not yet ubiquitous things for the little ones in your life.

After having their first son, Waddler creators Marina and Philip went on a 3 year adventure through Latin America. While living there, Marina took up knitting clothing for her son, Finn, out of Andean Alpaca wool, and those were their very first Waddler designs. Waddler’s cozy knits are made exclusively in Bolivia from local Alpaca wool. Their designs are not only warm and wearable but also incredibly cute. My favorite is their reversible Wolf & Bear Hooded Jumper, which can be worn gray or brown, with ears for dress up as a wolf or a bear.

The Texas-based Chakra Design Studio, made up of Bindu Kasinadhuni, Sara Hignite and Joslyn Taylor, employs a traditional Indian block printing technique for all their designs. Made in the south of India, their company supports artisan communities, helping to keep this traditional technique alive. Their light, 100% cotton dresses are perfectly comfortable and airy for the summer.

Zef is a Parisian brand that makes hip clothes for kids and, now, for teenagers. The look is pared down and meant for sophisticated city dwellers. When faced with a wide gap in the market for stylish clothing for teens, Mariù De Andreis, the brand’s ingenious designer, launched Zef’s Ciao Bella in St. Germain—a store especially for teenage girls with great clothes and fun accessories made by classic French brands like Laduree. Here’s a preview from their Italian 60’s inspired Spring catalog.
