For Design-Minded People with Dogs

When you think dog collar, you don’t always think hand-printed fabric from the fabled Mariano Fortuny workshop in Venice. But Louisiana-based interior designer, Rebecca Vizard inadvertently launched a side business when she made one out of pure necessity from leftover fabric scraps: She lives on a secluded farm with her Brittany spaniel, Lucille, and heading out to Petco for a new collar the day Lucille lost her old one just wasn’t an option. While Vizard still spends a majority of her day on design projects for humans, any Fortuny fabric that doesn’t make it onto a throw pillow for a client ends up in leash or collar form, making pretty great gifts for the dog (and design) obsessed. The fabric is precious, but it’s also surprisingly durable (and washable), too.
