A New Twist on Classic Holiday Apps

Everyone loves an appetizer, and while you can’t go wrong with the classics (maple-spiced nuts, anyone?), we thought it would be fun to mix things up a bit this holiday season. Here are four killer appetizers, inspired by different spots on the globe, that you won’t find at every other cocktail party: deviled eggs with lime juice and crispy shallots from Thailand, chicken meatball lettuce wraps with a bulgogi marinade and kimchi from Korea, saffron and mozzarella rice balls (or arancini, if you’re feeling fancy) from Italy, and ginger-flecked shrimp toast from China. Serve one or all of these with some good sparkling wine (which happens to go with just about everything), and call it a day.
