Diane von Furstenberg’s New York City Spots
We asked the designer for her go-to spots, particularly around fashion weeks when things get a little insane. For more New York City recommendations, check out our city guides.
The Energy Boost
My friend created the most amazing raw shots called Kor Shots—they are made from fresh ginger and turmeric and they are amazing! I drink them every day. They instantly make you feel energized and the benefits go far beyond Fashion Week. I have them at all of my meetings and everyone loves them.
The Beauty Regimen
I have been going to Tracie Martyn for facials for years. Tracie is a genius. I usually get the Red Carpet Facial which is simply divine, as it gets rid of any evidence of stress or lack of sleep or travel…a triple threat during the month of September!
The Way to De-Stress
Deep Tissue Massage and yoga: I do yoga a couple of times throughout the week and I always have a massage the night before my show at Fashion Week, as it helps me to go into the moment with clarity and excitement. Even during the busiest times, it is always important to take time for yourself, so I like to treat my team as well.
To decompress and get a little inspiration I take a walk along the High Line…it is the most amazing park in the sky and it always reminds me that anything is possible! Or I might visit MoMA which is fitting, as the DVF Spring Collection is called Riviera and it is all about the Cote D’Azur when it was truly glamorous, so the prints are inspired by Matisse and Picasso.
The Post-Show Dinner
This year, we are having a party at our studio, but Indochine is always buzzing during Fashion Week so I might pop in for a tequila. It feels like how New York used to be.
The Place To Stay
If you’re flying in, part of coming to New York for Fashion Week is staying in the best hotels. I love the elegant Carlyle Hotel, the Gramercy Park Hotel, and for a more trendy downtown spot, The Standard.
