Chanel Launches E-Commerce

Chanel launched their first e-commerce venture last week with a site devoted entirely to their eponymous eyewear. So why is this a big deal? Up until now, Chanel has left their online business to third-party vendors, so finally owning a piece of it themselves is a big step for the brand. Here’s hoping that accessories and ready-to-wear is next, since as of right now, it’s not available anywhere online. The consumer-focused approach to the rollout is everything you’d expect from the luxury giant; slow and careful, with a lot of attention on the experience. Oh, and it’s punctuated by a breathtaking editorial featuring Lily-Rose Depp.
