Born on the Bayou
Given that Blaine Lourd is a big deal in finance (he runs one of the country’s most prosperous wealth-management firms) it’s surprising that his first book, Born on the Bayou,
isn’t about the nuts and bolts of business. Instead, his memoir explores the relationships with the men in his life—a self-made oil tycoon dad and ambitious older brother, Bryan, who is a partner of the Creative Artists Agency—peppered with tales of growing up in small-town Louisiana. It’s an inspiring read for just about anyone.
