Ask Laurie: What’s Good
Affordable Cashmere?

We want to answer your most pressing questions—or, you know, just the things that you’re curious about. Please keep them coming to: feedback [at] goop [dot] com, or tweet us @goop. Below, a q for our fashion director, Laurie Trott.
Dear Laurie, Who makes good affordable cashmere? Would love to add some to my wardrobe this season. —Erin M.

Dear Erin, I love cashmere, and I’m really happy that this little luxury has become more accessible / available at lower price points. Here are some great places to shop online for cashmere knits that won’t break the bank but will still hold their own through the winter.

Ann Taylor

Great for trendier pieces, such as this crewneck peplum sweater (would look great with a pair of leather leggings), track pants (try them with a t-shirt, tailored jacket, and slingback heels for a more dressed-up look), and a cropped pullover that works so well with this season’s high-waisted jeans.

H&M

Cashmere for the whole family, but for the ladies in particular there are very cool slouchy cardigans, sweater dresses, and knit beanies.

Uniqlo

This is my my favorite place to shop for well-made knits—both cashmere and merino wool—that are easy on the wallet. I love that the color palette is neutral, the styles are pretty timeless, and nearly all of it is under $100.

Lands’ End

For the die-hard stripes lover, this Breton stripe cashmere sweater will last for years.

Mango

I clocked some easy cashmere jersey right below the $50 mark.  Great for layering or wearing for those unpredictable days when the temperatures are “moody.”
