What guides come with the app?
Included in the price, the app comes with guides to New York, London and Los Angeles. Bookshelf and in-app purchase functionality allows you to add future city guides as we release them, so you can build upon your collection within the one app.
Can I buy the City Guides separately?
The goop City Guides app is designed to store all of your city guides within your bookshelf, making it easy for you to store and build upon your collection in one app. Currently the city guides aren’t available for sale on an individual basis.
I already own the goop City Guides app, how do I get the London and Los Angeles guides?
If you already own the goop City guides app, you will need to run the latest update via the App Store to activate the London and Los Angeles guides on your bookshelf. Please note you will need 3G/WiFi connection to do this.
How do I run updates for my app?
To run an update from your device (iPhone or iPad), click on the App Store icon and then ‘updates’ in the bottom right hand corner. To update on your desktop computer from your iTunes account, click on the Apps link under Library in the left hand navigation. Click on the ‘Available Updates’ link in the bottom right hand corner and then the ‘Download all Free Updates’ icon in the top right corner. You will need to be on WiFi or 3G connection.
What if the Los Angeles guide doesn’t load?
If you experience that the Los Angeles guide doesn’t load on your bookshelf after you have updated, please delete the app from your device (press and hold on the goop icon until it wiggles. Tap the ‘x’ in the top left corner and then tap the ‘Delete’ button). Once removed, re-install it from the App Store (don’t worry, you won’t be charged again) on a 3G/WiFi connection. This should now activate the LA guide.
My app crashes when I open it.
Please note, the app is only compatible with iOS 5 and above. If you find your app isn't working or crashes unexpectedly, please check the software version on your device and update if necessary. You can check this in Settings > General > Software Update.
I can’t see some of the images in my city guide.
To enrich your guide, we have included lots of beautiful images of all of goop’s recommendations and favorite spots. The main image for each recommendation will download when you first view it and will then store within the app. You will need to have 3G or WiFi connection for the image to download so make sure you have good connection. There is also the option of downloading all images to your device at once, so you can view and enjoy them offline, again this will need 3G or WiFi connection. Visit the ‘more’ section, click on ‘manage images’ and ‘download now’. This will take a few minutes to download to your device.
I have no sound on my video.
The video is presented with a soundtrack and should play when the video is viewed. If it doesn’t play, please make sure you have the sound on your device turned on and to a relevant level.The video won’t play.To view the video content within the app, you will need to be on a 3G or WiFi connection so please make sure you are connected.
I have a blank screen when I open the app.
If for some reason you experience a blank screen when opening the app, please try exiting the app and re-launching, making sure you are on a 3G or WiFi connection. If the blank screen continues, try deleting the app from your device and downloading again from your App Store (don’t worry, you won’t be charged again as the App Store recognises your purchase receipt).
